Eastern Counties Rottweiler Club Championship
Show August 1st 2004
Bitch Judge: - Dena Fanshawe (Rottessor)
I would like to thank ECRC for my invitation to judge this lovely show
and yet again ordering the weather, although at first it did not look
at all promising, it was however perfect for the dogs allowing the youngsters
to be completed before it became too hot.
Thank you to all the exhibitors for a lovely entry and for accepting the
places so graciously.
The down side was light mouth pigment, however the flews were still black
which is what the standard calls for. I had four close bites, but generally
the dentition was good with the exception of a few dirty teeth.
All principal winners having correct bites and dentition.
Poor feet and loose pasterns spoiled some quality bitches; long toenails
in some cases aided this.
Many exhibits on the day were badly out of coat, which completely spoiled
the outline of some lovely bitches, but I had to judge them as they say
on the day.
The open class warrants a special mention, I was delighted, what quality?
I am fully aware I dismissed at least two lovely bitches I have previously
admired, such was the quality but there is only one red card and only
five can be placed.
The majority of the exhibits where a credit to their owners in that they
were clean and well presented for the show.
All principal winners moved well.

MPB 18 Entries (2 abs)
1st & Best Puppy Bitch
Hill’s Juffther’s Nutty Tart, just 8 months old. Overall picture
of this bitch is excellent. Correct proportions, level top line and correct
croup, same goes for rear and front angulation - no exaggerations. Good
bone and substance. Feminine but strong head, well placed ears, medium
to dark eyes, well defined stop. Clean neck flowed into well placed shoulders.
Richest of tans. Moved really well for one so young.
In the challenge for Best Puppy she came up against a nice dog but on
the day I believed the bitch had the edge, just a little more mature,
however on the referees decision the honour went to the dog, he had apparently
already won the puppy stake class judged by the referee.
My understanding is that the bitch had not competed for this, but I beg
the question had she had done so under this judge would she have been
a beaten exhibit under the referee at this point of the show?

2nd Barnes’s Gyrima Fendi
Almost 9 months old. Well-balanced, overall a lovely bitch. Nice head,

A little plain in head! But, with that out of the way lets look at the
rest. Has dark eyes and well placed ears. Her outline is lovely and very
impressive, clean and sharp. Correct shoulder placement, straight when
viewed from the front, maturity clearly seen in the depth of body and
firm top line, which holds well as she moves around the ring, showing
that she is well muscled and in good condition. Correct harsh coat and
rich tan markings
